Charitable Recognition

The Lincoln Community Foundation offers three ways that individuals can receive long-term recognition for their philanthropy.

  • Creating a fund in your name.
When you create a fund under one of our gifting options, you can name the fund in any way you choose. If you include your name in the name of the fund, your name will always be recognized whenever a grant from that fund is made. In addition, fund names are listed in our publications each year. For more information on the types of gifting options available, please refer to Methods of Giving.

  • Becoming a Benefactor.
Under the Benefactor program, Benefactors of the Lincoln Community Foundation are recognized on the glass panels that adorn a wall in the Lincoln Community Foundation Building or in the granite tiles of the Lincoln Foundation Garden walkway.
  • Joining the Legacy Society.
The Legacy Society is the Lincoln Community Foundation's name for the group of individuals who have made future commitments to the Foundation through provisions in wills and beneficiary designations on insurance policies, retirement plans, living trusts and commercial annuities. If you have included the Foundation as part of your future philanthropy, we encourage you to notify us of that fact so that you may be properly recognized as a member of the Legacy Society. (Future commitments from Legacy Society members currently total more than $65 million.) Legacy Society members are recognized each year in Foundation publications.  To view a list of the Foundation's Legacy Society members, click here.
