Designated Endowment

A designated endowment allows you to provide ongoing support to one or more of your favorite causes. You make a one-time designation as to the organizations you wish to support and, because the gift is given through an endowment at the Lincoln Community Foundation, it provides the organizations with annual grants, decade upon decade.

Your gift provides more than just funding – your favorite organizations will benefit from the Lincoln Community Foundation's investment stewardship and ability to manage endowment funds. Because the Lincoln Community Foundation handles the details, the staff of each nonprofit organization is freed up to focus on its mission. And, the Foundation can facilitate even the most complex forms of giving, such as planned gifts or gifts of appreciated stock or real estate.

You can add to the endowment at any time. If the organizations you select cease to exist or change in mission, the fund can be redirected so that it continues to address your charitable intent.

Example Story: Individual
Individual Donor
A source of strength and stability.

Sue has always been a strong supporter of her church and the homeless shelter. She currently provides them with annual donations and has discussed with her financial advisor ways to continue to provide them with income, even after she has passed away. She considered leaving a portion of her estate directly to them, but found that a designated endowment at the Lincoln Community Foundation would ultimately have the greatest impact on the charities. As an endowment, Sue's designated fund will provide her church and the homeless shelter with annual grants, year after year, decade upon decade. What's more, the annual grants made to these organizations will continue to grow each year.

There is so much more we'd like you to know. For more information and ideas on ways to integrate charitable giving with a financial plan, ask your financial advisor or contact the Lincoln Community Foundation at (402) 474-2345 or lcf@lcf.org. We will be happy to work with you and/or your advisor to determine the most effective ways to accomplish your charitable goals.
