The Foundation offers a special way to memorialize a friend or loved one. This time-honored Lincoln tradition has been used by thousands of individuals and families for memorial purposes.
The Book of Memory was established by the Foundation in 1958 to honor deceased loved ones and friends while also providing financial support for our community. Memorial gifts are directed to the Lincoln Forever Fund, a discretionary fund that provides grants to nonprofit organizations throughout our community. Recipients are recommended by the Foundation’s Grantmaking Committee and approved by the Board of Directors.
With a gift to the Book of Memory, the honored individual’s name is permanently inscribed in the book. The Book of Memory is on display in the lobby of the Foundation office and may be viewed during regular business hours.
Download and complete the Book of Memory Form below and send it with a contribution, to the Foundation office. Please make checks payable to the Lincoln Community Foundation.
The Foundation will notify the family of the deceased in writing that a contribution has been made in memory of their loved one. No mention is made of the gift amount.
If multiple gifts are received for the same name, the name will be inscribed once.
